AUCHI Polytechnic, one of the leading Polytechnics in the Nigeria one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan towns in Nigeria. This article is to bring to your notice that the aforementioned institution has a vacancy for the post given below: 

Post Title: Rector

Location of the applicant: Edo state

Job scope/Responsibility;

As a matter of fact, a Rector is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting Officer of a Polytechnic and has general responsibility for matters relating to the day to day administration of the institution subject to the general control of the Governing Council.

 REQUIREMENTS/ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

1. It should be noted that the applicant Must hold a Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree from a recognized institution in any of the disciplines offered in the Polytechnic or closely related ones with at least 20 years Professional and Administrative experience, at least five of which must have been gained in a Polytechnic.
2. The applicant Must be a Chief Lecturer of not less than six (6) years experience on the rank from the Polytechnic sector.
3. The applicant must demonstrate evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership trait and creativity in policy formulation, good human relations and positive managerial character.
4. The applicant Must provide evidence of academic publications in international journals, as well as presentation of invited papers at educational conferences, seminars and workshops attended.
5. The applicant Must be proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
6. The applicant Must be a honest and dynamic individual.
7. The applicant Must have good physical and mental health (with a prove from any government hospital).
8. The applicant Must be morally good, moreover, should not be carrying a moral burden, hence, having free financial embarrassment.
9. The applicant Must be have the initiative of  attracting research grants and development facilities to the institution.
10. The applicant Must be free from ethnicity, gender discrimination, nepotism,  religious or other sectional interests.
11. The applicant Must not be less than sixty (60) years old, as at the time of assumption of office.
12. The applicant Must have initiative of strong academic, administrative and visionary leadership,innovative and creativity in policy making, good human relations and positive managerial and administrative  trait.
13. The applicant Must provide NYSE  Certificate of Exemption or Discharge Certificate 
14. The applicant Must provide prove of membership of notable professional body/bodies in Nigeria.
15. The applicant Must be a person with initiative and vision with the capacity to sustain the accelerated pace of development of the Polytechnic even under financial and other challenging constraints.
16. The applicant Must be ready to encourage the Federal Government change programme in the Polytechnic/University sector in the country.
17. The applicant Must have respect for a constituted authority.                                 

Conditions of Appointment

Hence, the allocation is for an initial period of five (5) years and can be renewed in  accordance with the satisfactory performance for more term of five(5) years and no more.

Remuneration

Moreover, the salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits of the office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government.
