The Registrar of JAMB in the person of Ishaq Oloyede  maintained that a Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) will be implemented to streamline admission processes among institutions to overcome the common challenges associated with the former approach in recent years.

In addition, he said: “All over the world, there is agitation for dynamic and transparent educational policy for positive outcome,” he said. “ He further pointed out that JAMB only regulates admitions into  National Diploma, not Higher National Diploma; and therefore the same rquirements are not supposed to be used for admission into ND and BSC, saying that it is not reasonable.

Aftwards, The Registra also stated thus – “Institutions should not be sentimental in fixing cut off mark"; He encouraged schools not to prolong the issue of cut off mark hence fascilitate the admission lists to be released as soon as possible.
However he made it clear that the number of those seeking admission to study agricultural science and its related courses has noticebly reduced while those for medicine and health science are still on the increase.
Finally, he also spoke concerning partiality and illegal admissions promising that this year's admission would be basically based on merit as the new system demands that th Registra assesses and verifies all qualified candidates before final approval and release of list on the internet

Take Note; Federal Government together with The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board agrees that all institutions are free to conduct screening for candidates seeking admission into any school and finally come up with their own cut of marks depending on the general perfomance of the candidates and also the number of applicants.
