Furthermore, Ambassador Dickson Akoh; the National Commandant of the Nigerian Peace Corps (NPC), Ambassador Dickson Akoh, has opend up  that the paramilitary  would certainly in a shortwhile recruit over Nine hundrend and fifty Nigerian youths as soon as  the National Assembly eventually passes necessary law supporting its operations which according to him is almost hand.

Aftwords, Ambassador Dickson Akoh in his speech during a public hearing on the Bill for an Act for the legal encoporation of Nigerian Peace Corps organised by the interior committee of the House of Representatives,  made it obvious that the repugnances by the Nigeria Police to their legalisation was nothing else but as aresult police’s fear for  competition challenges both in operation together with government’s financial allocation and enbursements.
 

He further noted that the excuse which the police gave to the committee wasn't different from that which the Nigerian force came up with during the National Assembly debate for the setting up of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) years ago.

Ambasador Akoh went further in his speech to bring to the notice of the the committee that Peace Corps was not advocating arms, saying that he doesn't believe that arms were the best solution to the insecurity in Nigeria today.

Moreover, Akoh made mention of the fact that our men are thoroughly oriented, saying that if the police want to encourage patriotic service, let the youths work freely even. Even if they are paid 15,000, Nigerian  youths are ready to do it, but only with an assurance when there is recruitment into the conventional paramilitary or job opportunity  is already made available for  those youths who at the moment have started rendering  patriotic services.

 “The economic situation may not be favurable. Therefore, we have the power to engage over Eight hundrend thousand eligible Nigeria youths to adequately take care of the schools and colleges,” he said.

The major and unavoidable requirements for Nigerian Peace Corps Recruitment Application include;

• First School Leaving Certificates.
• Birth Certificate or prove of age declearation.
• An applicant must possess five credit passes in five O'level subjects including English and Mathemeatics.
